Haute Tea (Spring 2008)

Young Women’s Alliance & Les Dames d’Escoffier Throw Haute Tea Party

AUSTIN, Texas –Mar. 6, 2008– The Young Women's Alliance and Les Dames d'Escoffier of Austin have teamed up for a worthy cause; they will host an Haute Tea Party on Saturday, March 29 to benefit their local scholarship programs for women. This chic tea party includes gourmet tea service from The Steeping Room along with savory and sweet offerings prepared by several of Austin’s top female Chefs. Tea will be served promptly at 2 p.m. at the Ventana restaurant in the Texas Culinary Academy. The decadent menu will include smoked salmon tea sandwiches, scones, lemon tartlets, and petit fours. Additionally, a silent auction will be held including items to bid on from local restaurants and boutiques such as Viva Chocolato! and bettysport. Each guest will leave with special treats from our sponsors The Steeping Room and Viva Chocolato! Guests are encouraged to wear their best hat, gloves, or ascot to the party. The funds raised from this event will support the scholarships awarded to women by the Young Women’s Alliance Foundation and Les Dames d’Escoffier.

In addition to the traditional sit down tea, a Children's Tea Party will be offered simultaneously at the Bleu River Grill directly across the hall from Ventana. During this tea, children 6-12 years of age will be treated to crust-less delicacies, sweet pastries and be involved in engaging activities. Children may arrive in their spring petticoats, hats or however they please.
