Community Service Opportunities
YWA offers at least one opportunity each month for its members to volunteer with a local nonprofit. We work with a number of groups that empower women and young girls in the Austin community, which is in line with the mission of the YWA Foundation.
We support several "partner" organizations on a regular basis:

YWA Mentor Program
In 2009, we launched the YWA Mentor Program, which pairs YWA members with a young girl in one of our partner organizations for an ongoing mentoring relationship. The 2010-2011 year was very successful, with more than 10 of our members participating.

Austin Under 40 Awards
The Austin Under 40 Awards (Au40) has been an annual Austin institution since March 1997 when the Young Women's Alliance and Young Men's Business League first joined together to recognize Austin men and women under the age of 40 who achieve extraordinary professional success and demonstrate outstanding community service.
Over the past 13 years, this event has raised more than $265,000 for the Austin Sunshine Camps and the YWA Foundation. These funds have sent thousands of at risk youth to summer camp, supported year-round mentoring and tutoring activities, and funded educational scholarships for women. Past Au40 winners include Michael Dell, Lance Armstrong and Mayor Will Wynn.

YWA Fashion Show
The Annual YWA Fashion Show is produced entirely by YWA members, and all proceeds benefit the YWA Foundation.
In 2011, more than 350 stylish Austinites turned out to support our 7th Annual Fashion Show. The Show featured clothing and accessories from Austin boutiques, and hair and makeup by local salons. The event raised nearly $10,000, which was used to fund higher education scholarships and provide grants to organizations dedicated to empowering, educating, and enriching the lives of girls and women in Central Texas.
